The high-quality safes in Wertheim’s EWSKB series represent the pinnacle of security safes. Due to their specialized wall construction, all models with the “KB” designation offer additional burglary protection against attacks with core drills. This allows for a higher insurance classification and greater potential insurance coverage. All models in the EWSKB series impress with their generous interior volume, robust construction, and elegant design. The EWS1902KB and EWS1904KB models are double-winged and offer the largest interior volume of any Wertheim safe, making them ideal for use in banks, jewelry stores, betting shops, and any location where high six-figure values need to be securely stored.
Security & Certification
The safes in the EWSKB series comply with the European standard EN1143-1 and are certified for resistance grade VKB.

To ensure full acceptance by all insurance companies, we rely exclusively on renowned testing institutes and certifications such as VdS, ECB-S, and VSÖ. This guarantees that no issues will arise with your insurance in the event of a claim due to unrecognized or insufficient certifications.
Design and Quality
The EWSKB models come standard with a high-quality, fire- and scratch-resistant coating in RAL7037 Dusty Grey. This ensures surface durability for decades. For special requirements, we also offer custom finishes (standard RAL) to meet any design preference.
With Wertheim’s consistently high manufacturing quality, the EWSKB series stands out with good haptics when opening and closing the door, as well as when operating the locking mechanism.
Function & Features
The safes in the EWSKB series come standard with a cable hole on both the left and right sides. This allows for powering devices like a hard drive inside the safe or transmitting a Wi-Fi signal to the outside. This means watch winders or data backup drives can be operated without compromising security. Additionally, all EWSKB models come pre-fitted with a VdS-certified setup for connecting to a burglar alarm system.
Safes in resistance grade VKB must, according to certification, be equipped with at least two locks. The EWSKB series comes standard with two double-bit locks. Optionally, versions with other lock models are also available.
The door hinge is standard on the right for our single-door models but can be ordered with a left hinge at no extra cost for any model. The external door hinge, a signature Wertheim feature, allows the door to open up to 180°, providing full access to the safe’s interior width for easy loading.
Optionally, the door hinge can be ordered further out, allowing access to the full internal width at an opening angle of just 90°. This is particularly useful when ordering additional interior fittings such as lockers.
All EWSKB models weighing less than 1,000 kg must be anchored to comply with insurance requirements. All safes are prepared for floor anchoring, and the corresponding anchoring material is included with the EWS0849KB and EWS0850KB models.
