The Innovation from Wertheim: Demountable Safes in Resistance Grade IVKB for Easy Installation in Challenging Transport Situations
Due to the high weight of safes starting from resistance grade VKB, transport can often be challenging. Our demountable safes offer a practical solution: each side, wall, ceiling element, and the door can be transported separately and assembled on-site. This significantly reduces the weight that the transport path must bear. A general rule is that about 22% of the total weight comes from the door, with the rest distributed across the other elements. This makes it possible to transport large safes, for example, down narrow stairs into a basement. Assembly is quick and straightforward, done by bolting the parts together on-site—without special tools and with minimal noise or mess.
All models in the EWSKBZ series impress with their generous interior volume, robust construction, and elegant design. The EWS1902KBZ and EWS1904KBZ models are double-winged and offer the largest interior volume of any Wertheim safe, making them ideal for use in banks, jewelry stores, betting shops, and any location where high six-figure values need to be securely stored.
Security & Certification
The safes in the EWSKBZ series comply with the European standard EN1143-1 and are certified for resistance grade VKB.
To ensure full acceptance by all insurance companies, we rely exclusively on renowned testing institutes and certifications such as VdS, ECB-S, and VSÖ. This guarantees that no issues will arise with your insurance in the event of a claim due to unrecognized or insufficient certifications.
Design and Quality
The EWSKBZ models come standard with a high-quality, scratch-resistant coating in RAL7037 Dusty Grey. This ensures surface durability for decades. For special requirements, we also offer custom finishes (standard RAL) to meet any design preference.
With Wertheim’s consistently high manufacturing quality, the EWSKBZ series stands out with good haptics when opening and closing the door, as well as when operating the locking mechanism.
Function & Features
The safes in the EWSKBZ series are equipped with 2 cable holes as standard (on the door hinge side, ceiling and side panel). This enables, for example, the power supply of a hard disk in the safe or the transport of a WLAN signal to the outside. This means that watch winders or data backup hard disks can be operated without compromising security. All EWSKBZ models come pre-fitted with a VdS-certified setup for connecting to a burglar alarm system.
Safes in resistance grade VKB must, according to certification, be equipped with at least two locks. The EWSKBZ series comes standard with two double-bit locks. Alternatively, many other lock variants from our extensive lock range can be selected.
The door hinge is standard on the right for our single-door models but can be ordered with a left hinge at no extra cost for any model. The external door hinge, a signature Wertheim feature, allows the door to open up to 180°, providing full access to the safe’s interior width for easy loading.
Optionally, the door hinge can be ordered further out, allowing access to the full internal width at an opening angle of just 90°. This is particularly useful when ordering additional interior fittings such as lockers.
